This year marks the 15th Twizel Salmon & Wine Festival, and it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! The combination of boutique wines, craft beers, and delicious local salmon, along with the new venue at stunning Lake Ruataniwha, makes this festival unique in New Zealand.

The 2020 festival is being held at the rowing complex on stunning Lake Ruataniwha, giving patrons a world-class view while they enjoy their family day in the Twizel sun. Free shuttles will run to and from Twizel’s Market Place all day long, and a bus will run from Wanaka (ph 021 668 113) and Oamaru (ph 03 443 9120) return for only $15 to make sure everyone can tick the Twizel Salmon & Wine Festival off their to-do list.
From lively bands and roaming buskers to a bouncy castle and face painting for the kids, there’s always something to entertain everyone at the Twizel Salmon & Wine Festival. Don’t forget to bring along your sunhat and chair (sunscreen is available free of charge on site) to enjoy a relaxing family day out listening to great music, eating delicious food, and drinking fine beer and wine. Even better – this year there will be plenty of space for patrons to bring their own shade cover.
Buy your ticket early online for $20 and go in the draw to win either a scenic flight for two with Mt Cook Helicopter Line or a skydive package with Skydive Mt Cook. Pre-sale tickets are also available from the Twizel Information Centre. Gates sales will be available on the day for $25. Both ticket prices include the free festival shuttle throughout the day to and from Twizel Market Place. Children under 16 enter for free when accompanied by an adult.
